Valley Stars Ganderbal defeated Buraq Cricket Club by 32 runs in the ongoing Kashmir Cricket League Edition-9 here at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota.
After winning the toss Buraq Cricket Club skipper invited Valley Stars Ganderbal to set the target on a 22yard flat track of Country Cricket Stadium Gharota.
While batting first Ishtiyaq Robby and Danish Muzafar scored 133 runs 2nd wicket partnership after Nasir Kumar was out cheaply for 16 runs. Ishtiyaq and Danish played brilliantly and scored 102 and 44 runs respectively and set a huge target of 209 runs for the loss of 6 wickets for Buraq Cricket Club. Zeeshan Bhat took two wickets for Buraq.
In reply, the Buraq Cricket Club team scored 176 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, remained 33 runs short from the target. Shabir Khanday scored 71 and Tajamul scored 51 runs for the team. Skipper of the Valley Stars Nadeem Dar took three, and Junaid Bashir took two wickets for Valley Stars.
Ishtiyaq Robby was declared player of the match for his magnificent hundred.
In second match of the day, Friends Xi Langate defeated Gazi Cricket Club by 40 runs.
After winning the toss Gazi Cricket Club skipper invited Friends Xi Langate to bat first, while batting first Friends Xi Langate scored 145 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Iqbal Bhat scored the highest 53 runs while RJ Nazir and Farooq Lefty scored 18 runs each for the team. Gh Mohammad, Rafaqat and G Mohammad took two wickets each for the team.
In reply, the Gazi Cricket Club remained 41 runs short from the target, scored 105 runs allout in 17.5 overs. Musasir took three, Iqbal Bhat, Junaid Mir, and Farooq Lefty took two wickets each in the bowling. Iqbal Bhat was declared player of the match for his allround performance, he scored 53 runs and took two wickets for Friends.
