The Inter-District UT Level U-19 Cricket Tournament “League of Classics” was formally inaugurated at Qazigund, Anantnag today by Abdul Majeed Larmi. The inaugural ceremony was attended by players and officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department Anantnag, marking a vibrant start to this prestigious tournament. The tournament commenced with a Anti Drug pledge ceremony, where participants reaffirmed their commitment towards building a drug-free society.
The tournament is being organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department Jammu and Kashmir and hosted by DYSSO Anantnag under the Youth Engagement and Empowerment Programme. It features U-19 male cricketers, who belongs to different districts of Jammu & Kashmir.
A total of 18 district level teams are participating in th e tournament with around 270 cricketers competing in the event. Matches will be played across four different venues in Jablipora, Bijbehara, under the supervision of officials from the Youth Services and Sports Department.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Abdul Majeed Larmi highlighted the importance of sports in shaping the youth. He emphasized that such sporting activities serve as an effective means to keep young people away from drug abuse and encouraged players to make sports an integral part of their daily lives. He also lauded the Youth Services and Sports Department for this commendable initiative.
