Anantnag emerged champions of the UT Level Inter-District U-19 (Boys) Cricket Tournament after defeating Pulwama by 44 runs in the final played at BHSS Bijbehara.
Batting first after after winning the toss, Anantnag posted 162 runs, with Faizan Nazir leading the scoring with a brilliant 66 off 54 balls. Pulwama, in reply, were restricted to 118 runs. Subaib Shoukat delivered an outstanding bowling performance, claiming 4 wickets for just 3 runs. Faizan Nazir leading the scoring with a brilliant 66 off 54 balls was adjudged Man of the Match and Suhaib was adjudged as man 9f the tournament for 18 wickets and 50 runs throughout the tournament.
A significant contribution to Anantnag’s title-winning campaign came from Coach Mehraj Sheikh, whose guidance and coaching played an important role in the team’s successful performance throughout the tournament.
On the post match presentation, Principal BHSS Bijbehara Mohd Iqbal Ganie was the Chief guest along with DYSSO Anantnag Zahoor Ahmad Wani and others officials. The tournament was organized by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K, and hosted by DYSSO Anantnag at BHSS Bijbehara and Jablipora Grounds.
