Khan Sultan Legends stormed into the grand finale of the Bijbehara Cricket Association (BCA) Legends League after registering a convincing 7 wicket victory over Mighty Anantnag Legends in the semifinal played today at Nilandrus Ground, Bijbehara.
Batting first, Anantnag Legends posted a competitive total of 143 runs. Imran Sofi led the scoring with a magnificent innings, while the other middle order batters made valuable contributions to help their side set a challenging target.
In reply, Khan Sultan Legends produced a clinical batting display. Irfan Tahir starred with a brilliant 56 runs, while Bashir Bhat played a composed knock of 37 runs. Sajad Ahmad also chipped in with a valuable unbeaten 25 runs as Khan Sultan Legends comfortably chased down the target in the 19th over with 7 wickets in hand. In the match, Khan Sultan Legends dominated both with the bat and the ball throughout the contest despite Anantnag Legends fielding several accomplished players, including national-level cricketers Naseer Wantt, Ameek Khan, Sajid Mir, Mohd Amin and others.
For his outstanding all round performance of 3 wickets and unbeaten 15 runs, Tariq Ganie was adjudged the Player of the Match.
With this victory, Khan Sultan Legends have secured a place in the grand finale, where they will take on DDC Legends on Sunday.
