Anantnag clinched the title of League of Classics Inter District UT Level U-19 Cricket Tournament organized by Youth services and sports Department and was hosted by DYSSO Anantnag. In the Final Match, Anantnag defeated Pulwma by 7 wickets today at Nilandrus Ground Bijbehara.
The tournament witnessed mass participation from about 275 Cricketers across 19 districts of J&K. The tournament was organised under YEEP Youth Engagement and Empowerment Programme. The tournament aims to keep youth away from drugs and promotes 100 days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Initiative of JK govt.
Batting first pulwama set the target of 119 target, in which Sameer Rasool made 41 runs as highest. From Anantnag side Arjumand Rafiq took 3 wickets. While chasing Anantnag chased down the target with the help of Imran Ali’s 60 runs and Arjumand’s 48 runs. Thus Anantnag became the Champion team of the tournament.
Later Arjumand Rafia was declared as man of the match for his 48 runs and 3 wickets. On the final award Ceremony International Cricketer Parveez Rasool was the chief guest, who distributed the Medals and Trophies to both the teams.
