It’s truly the end of an era in J&K cricket. The man who carried the hopes of an entire region Parveez Rasool, has officially announced his retirement from all forms of the game.

Born in the small town of Bijbehara, Anantnag, Parveez’s journey was never easy. Coming from a place where cricket had hardly any facilities, he had to fight through every obstacle, lack of infrastructure, limited opportunities, and the weight of expectations. But with sheer hard work, he turned every struggle into motivation.

His big break came when he made his Ranji Trophy debut for J&K, and from there, he never looked back. He became the backbone of J&K cricket, a consistent performer, a dependable all-rounder, and a true leader who carried the team for years.

The dream moment came when he became the first cricketer from Jammu & Kashmir to represent Team India, a day that every youngster in the valley still remembers with pride. He also represented top IPL franchises like Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad, rubbing shoulders with legends of the game.
Over the years, Parveez not only took crucial wickets and scored valuable runs, but he also earned something bigger that is respect. He put J&K cricket on the national map and inspired countless youngsters.
