The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Zone Bijbehara emerged victorious in the District-Level Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament (U-14 Boys), held at the Turf Wicket Ground, BHSS Bijbehara.
The tournament was organized by DYSSO Anantnag to promote cricketing talent in the district and identify potential players for the upcoming Provincial-Level Inter-District Tournament.The final match witnessed Zone Bijbehara dominate Zone Anantnag to secure the title. Batting first, Zone Anantnag managed to post a modest total of 88 runs. Ayan Parvaiz was the top scorer with 27 runs. From the Bijbehara bowling unit, Ubaid Manzoor delivered a match-winning performance, claiming 4 crucial wickets.In response, Zone Bijbehara chased down the target comfortably, winning the match with six wickets in hand. Simnan top-scored with 35 runs, while Haris contributed 27 runs to seal the victory.During the post-match presentation, Ubaid Manzoor was named Player of the Match for his brilliant 4-wicket haul. Simnan was awarded Player of the Tournament for his consistent all-round performance throughout the competition.
The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies, medals, and participation certificates by officials from the Youth Services and Sports Department, Anantnag.In a congratulatory message, Mr. Aashiq Bhat, Coach and Team Incharge of Zone Bijbehara, praised his team’s phenomenal victory. He also expressed gratitude to the Zone Head for entrusting him with the responsibility to lead and mentor the young talents.
