Qamran makes it again in U-19, will try to make state proud, eyes senior team

Srinagar, Feb 13: J&K’s junior star cricketer Qamran Iqbal has been selected for U-19 Quadrangular series scheduled to be held next month.

“I am happy I have been selected for this series. I want to do better now,” said Qamran. “I was hopeful too that my name will feature in the selection list”

Qamran said, “I want to work hard till the series gets underway. I need to get more opportunities in future as well,” he said.

The teenager said his main focus is on fitness. I spend a lot of time on batting and fielding practice.

He said he targets to play for senior team. ”My dream is to play for Indian team one day and for that I have go through a lot of hard work,” he said.

He credited his selection to former cricketer and JK Coach Mithun Manhas.

“I am in touch with him since last three years. He keeps providing me tips and helping me. He is my mentor and has been supportive all along. He has promised me to help further my skills,” said Qamran.

Qamran asked budding Kashmiri cricketers to remain focused and work hard. “I will try my best to prove myself in the series and make Kashmiris proud”
