Islamia College Inter Group football Tournament Concludes
Srinagar, May 28: The ICS Reds defeated ICS Greens in the finals of Islamia college Inter group football tournament played at college play field on Monday. In the intensely fought final saw some attacking football being played from both the sides which comprised the players from the college team besides some new faces. Shezan opened the account by netting the ball in 16th minute of the first half and Shakira doubled the lead for ICS Greens in 21st minute. Greens team was leading by 2 goals to nil at the half time. But the Reds team reorganised themselves in the second half and scored 3 consecutive goals in the 47th minute through Waqar and a double strike through Raees in 51st and 67th minute. The spirits were high and boys were working very hard despite observing fast. And in the dieing moments of the match the equaliser came through a beautiful strike from Waris of Greens in the 88th minute. The scores were level at the end of the alloted time. The match was finally decided through penalty shootouts and the ICS Reds won by 6 to 5 goals.
