Jammu Division emerged victorious in the Inter Division UT Level U-19 Cricket Tournament 2024 by defeating Kashmir Division 2-1 in the three-match series, held at the BHSS ground in Bijbehara. Despite Jammu Division’s two early wins, Kashmir Division claimed a consolation victory in the third match today, winning by 6 wickets.
In today’s match, Jammu Division batted first and set a target of 101 runs, with notable contributions from Ashotosh (24 runs) and Adnan (18 runs). Kashmir’s Soulib Tariq was the standout bowler, claiming an impressive five-wicket haul, including a hat-trick, while Zeeshan took two wickets.
Kashmir Division chased down the target with ease, securing the win with 6 wickets in hand. Waris Rashid remained unbeaten on 28 runs, and Mohd Umair added 27 to the total. Nazir Khanday of Jammu Division picked up two crucial wickets, but it wasn’t enough to stop the chase.
Soulib Tariq was named Man of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance. The tournament was organized by the YSS Department J&K and hosted by DYSSO Anantnag at the BHSS ground.
Following the tournament, a 16-member squad was selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir in the upcoming School National Games.
