The Inter Division UT Level Cricket Tournament for the Under-19 age group officially began today at the BHSS ground in Bijbehara, Anantnag. The event was inaugurated by Principal Nasreena Akhter of BHSS Bijbehara, alongside officials from the Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Department of Anantnag.
The tournament is organized by the YSS Department of Jammu and Kashmir and hosted by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Anantnag, the tournament features teams from Jammu Division and Kashmir Division competing in three league matches. The best performers will be selected to represent Jammu and Kashmir in the upcoming School National Games.
During the inauguration, chief guest Nasreena Akhter commended the youth’s active participation, emphasizing the importance of such events in combating the drug menace among young people. She praised the YSS Department’s efforts in providing a platform for school students to showcase their cricketing talent and encouraged the organization of more such tournaments to promote sports among youth.
The tournament will conclude on 18th October 2024.
