HSS Dailgam lifts District Level Inter School U-19 Cricket Tournament Anantnag

Govt. Higher Secondary School Dailgam lifts the title of District Level Inter School U-19 Cricket Tournament today on 13/8/2024 here at BHSS ground Bijbehara. In the final match HSS Dailgam defeated HSS Mehind by 5 wickets.
Earlier on the opening of the match Swatchhta Pakwada Pledge and Swatchhta Drive was carried out by players as well as the officials of the tournament.
In the match batting first HSS Mehind set the target of 119 runs in alloted overs, in which Shahid Saleem scored 22 runs and Annayat Muzaffar scored 20 runs as highest. From HSS Dailgam Sehran took 2 wickets. In reply HSS Dailgam chased down the target in the last over of the match with 5 wickets in hand, in which Abrar Zahoor scored brilliant unbeaten 37 runs and Sameer Mushtaq scored 21 runs as highest. Thus HSS Dailgam emerged as winner of the tournament. On the post match presentation Ceremony, Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Abdul Aziz Shiekh was the chief guest who presented the Winning Trophy, Runner up Trophy and best performers award to the players of the match. In his speech, he lauded the players for the participation in the tournament. He stress players to keep themselves away from the drug addiction, which will have a very bad effect on your health as well as on your social life. He further, expressed admiration for the efforts of the YSS Department Anantnag and extended full support from the District Administration Anantnag for future endeavors.
The other guests who were present on the Tournament’s Final Presentation Ceremony are DYSSO Anantnag Mr. Raja Yaqoob, Principal BHSS Bijbehara Mrs. Nasreena Akhter and other officials of the YSS Department.
Man of the match award was given to Abrar Zahoor of HSS Dailgam for his brilliant unbeaten Match winning knock of 37 runs. Man of the tournament award was given to Shahid Saleem of HSS Mehind for his outstanding performances throughout the tournament, in which he scored 210 runs with the bat and clinched 13 wickets with the ball. In the tournament a total 40 teams from different Higher Secondary School of District Anantnag participated with zeal and zest. The tournament was conducted on two different venues i.e BHSS Bijbehara and Sports Stadium Dooru. The event saw enthusiastic participation from U-19 male Cricketers, showcasing the growing interest and talent in Cricket within the district.
